Operator estimates, kept separate.

Air Care publishes gasoline-station queue estimates. Those estimates do not apply to diesel businesses. “Station Open” is an operational status, not a zero-minute wait.

Checked is different from updated.

“Last checked” is when our server retrieved the listing. A fresh retrieval does not establish when the estimate was measured. Provider timestamps remain unverified until their meaning and timezone are confirmed; we preserve the original value for diagnostics.

Freshness.

When trustworthy source timestamps are available, recent means no more than 30 minutes old; delayed means 30–60 minutes; stale means older than 60 minutes. These configurable thresholds allow for the operator’s roughly 15–20-minute published cadence. Our five-minute checking interval, when authorized, is not an upstream update promise. Unverified timestamps do not enter confident wait rankings.

Comparing your options.

Nearest uses straight-line distance for verified coordinates. Shortest drive uses Google road estimates for up to eight candidates. Lowest reported wait sorts usable estimates by their published lower bound; ranges can overlap. Drive + reported wait adds driving minutes to the published wait, preserving any range or “under”/“plus” qualifier. It excludes inspection time. Stations missing comparable data remain visible after comparable entries.

Closed stations, likely arrival after closing, and stale waits are excluded from confident combined estimates. Last admission can be earlier than closing; if unverified, call near closing. Results cover the compared shortlist and do not identify a statewide optimum.

During an outage.

The directory keeps the last usable source state, addresses and directions. Old reports are labeled stale. Use the official wait listing before traveling.
